Gingham Tulips Birthday Card

Who is ready for Spring?  I sure am, so here is another spring-like card using the Timeless Tulips stamp set and coordinating punch.  This time I CASE'd the idea of punching the leaves out of coordinating DSP and adding them on top of the base flower using Stampin' Dimensionals.  When you punch out the leaves, punch one out of each side of the paper so you can add them to the front as shown above.  If you punch on the same side of the paper, they won't line up correctly.  Interested in learning how to do this?  See the details below....

List of Ingredients:
Stamps:  Timeless Tulips
Ink:  Mossy Meadow, Memento Black Tuxedo, Daffodil Delight
Cardstock:  Thick Whisper White, Brights and Subtles DSP (gingham check patterns)
Accessories: Tulip punch, Daffodil Delight ribbon, classic label punch, Tombow liquid adhesive, Stampin' Dimensionals, Whisper White envelope

Dimensions:
Card base:  11" x 4 1/4 ", scored at 5 1/2" – Thick Whisper White
First layer:  5 1/4" x 4" – Pool Party – 5 1/4" x 4"
Second layer:  Whisper White, 5" x 3 3/4"
Scrap:  Daffodil Delight, Brights and Subtles DSP as desired to punch out tulip pieces

Basic Instructions:
1.  Cut and fold card base.
2.  Stamp inside of card with stems in Mossy Meadow and small tulip image in Daffodil Delight from the Timeless Tulip stamp set in lower right corner.  Stamp a sentiment if desired.
3.  Run the Whisper White layer through the subtles embossing folder.  Stamp 3 stems onto lower center of white layer.
4.  To create the flower pot, cut a piece of DSP 2 1/2" x 1 7/8".  Make tick marks 1/2" from the top on both of the 2 1/2" sides, then also make tick marks 1/2 inch up from the bottom on both sides.  Place in paper trimmer aligning tick marks to cut off a small triangle from each side to resemble a flower pot.  Adhere a piece of yellow ribbon where the angle starts and add a bow with glue dots.
5.  Cut out 3 tulips from desired DSP and then cut out 2 coordinating leaves from the same color DSP, one from each side of the paper.  Adhere the leaves to the tulip body with dimensionals.  Place the tulips on the card front on top of the stems as desired using liquid adhesive.  Adhere the flower pot on the bottom of the card with dimensionals, with the stems protruding appropriately.
6.  Stamp the happy birthday sentiment onto Daffodil Yellow cardstock and punch out with Classic Label punch.  Adhere to bottom of flower pot using dimensionals on the right side and glue on the left side, so the label is positioned evenly.
7.  Stamp stems and tulips onto the lower right corner of the envelope as desired.
